Ostriches

This week, we will be discussing the largest living bird species. It is one that can grow to be 9 feet tall but don’t worry, you won’t see it flying over your house. This amazing animal has some really interesting traits that we can’t wait to share with you. So, lace up your shoes, because we’re heading to the hot savannahs of Africa to run with ostriches.

“The young ostriches grow at around one foot per month. And after half a year, they’re about as big as their full grown parents. And the chicks don’t grow their adult feathers until they are about four months old.”
