In this episode we’re talking about a parasitic animal that uses aquatic animals as its host. These animals have been successful on Earth for millions of years, and luckily Alex is accompanied by Dr. Michael Wagner, a Professor at Michigan State University, to discuss these amazing creatures. So, get ready to hold your breath, as we go underwater to talk about lampreys.
About Our Guest: Dr. Michael Wagner
Dr. Michael Wagner is a broadly trained aquatic ecologist (marine and freshwater) who studies the behavior and ecology of fishes. His team’s goal is to devise and develop practical, scientifically sound, and innovative management tools for control of invasive species, and the conservation of native species, particularly lampreys. This requires his team to engage policymakers and managers in their research, and to engage themselves in the process of agency decision-making, to achieve useful and effective solutions to vexing environmental problems.
